Welcome back to everyone, we hope you all had a lovely summer break. We are excited to start work on our show, details as below. If students are not able to perform in the show, could you please let a member of staff know as soon as possible.
Congratulations go to our Senior dancers who will be off to university this year:
Emma Pickens, studying Biology at Exeter. Sian Owen, studying Early Years at Chester. Ruth Phillips, studying English Literature and Drama at East Anglia. Laura Baxendale, studying Medicine at Leicester.
Also Congratulations to Miss Hannah, who has gained a place at B.O.A. studying Dance, and to Miss Katie who has gained 92% in her penultimate teaching exam.
We are excited to announce that Showtime 2015 is going to be held at Bedworth Civic Hall on Tuesday 26th May and Wednesday 27th May 2015.
Please note that this is during school half term. Tuesday will be during the day and evening for rehearsal and performance, and Wednesday will be an evening performance.
We will begin choreography from 13th September 2014. Debbie will email everyone as soon as we have any information regarding the dates and deposits.
We would like to reiterate the attendance rules regarding Mardi Gras. From September 13th 2014 up to and including August 1st 2015 dancers will only be able to miss a total of 3 weeks Mardi Gras rehearsals.
All Mardi Gras dances will be performed in our show in May. The compulsory dress rehearsals will be May 16th and 23rd. All dancers must attend on these dates.
Please speak to Donna or Debbie ASAP if you have any concerns with the above.
BTDA Candidate Registration
Please could you ensure that all of your contact details, including email address, are up to date. This is to assist us in registering all students online for their examinations, which is now compulsory for the BTDA.
If the student has a ULN (Unique Learner Number) from Secondary school, please could you let us have this.
We have places available on Monday from 5.00 – 5.30 for Inters and Seniors to work towards medal tests. Please see Donna if you are interested. For Inters who would like to join this class the cost would be £1 for the half hour lesson.
Singing lessons next term will finish on 6th December. On Sunday 7th December at Brockington College, Enderby, The Lee Academy singing class will be performing in The Musical Village Christmas concert. Please could you let Lesia know as soon as possible if students are unable to attend. For those that are able to attend, please keep the whole day free.
Lesia would like singing students to wear a uniform, which will consist of a black blouse and either black leggings or jazz pants. This will be worn for lessons and performances, including the show.
We are looking into sourcing the black blouses and will update you as soon as possible with order information. We will aim to keep the cost of the blouses to a minimum.
A polite reminder
Fee invoices are given out on the last lesson of term, these fees are due for payment on the first lesson of the new term. Payment can be made via cheque, cash or BACS. If you require the bank details, please contact Donna. If you pay via BACS, please text Donna on the date the transfer is made. Thank you.
Thank you for your continued support, as always.
